Around East Farleigh

East Farleigh, a delightful picturesque village lies about three miles west of Maidstone on the southern slopes of the River Medway. The five arched medieval bridge across the river Medway is a scheduled ancient monument and is one of the finest bridges in the south of England. In 1648 General Thomas Fairfax led the parliamentary troops across the bridge on his way to defeating the Royalist supporters of Maidstone.

There are excellent shopping facilities available in the neighbouring village of Coxheath as well as the new Fremlin Walk in Maidstone. East Farleigh has its own church and a popular public house.

There is a branch line station at East Farleigh and mailine stations at Barming and Maidstone itself. There is easy access to the M20 motorway with links to London, the coast, major airports and the Channel Tunnel.
